Muhammad hafizh I was discharged yesterday and feel almost back to normal. Like to thank Dr Bernard, ward nurses and physiotherapist for their care. I had an ACL knee complete tear after a volleyball sports injury. My knee injury happened mid-game and I heard a popping sound and could not straighten my knee or walk. I came to the nearest hospital Sungai Long as it was my panel hospital. I consulted Dr Bernard an orthopaedic specialist who listened carefully to the nature of my injury and after examining told me I had torn my ACL ligament which caused locking of the knee. This was later confirmed by mri. I underwent an arthroscopic ACL surgery. He has a good physiotherapy team and oversees my rehab sessions.

On the 31st May 2024 I had an unfortunate accident. Due the accident, I had a bad crush injury of my middle and ring finger. I rushed to Sungai Long Specialist Hospital and was attended by Dr. Bernard. He went through the procedure in details to me. I underwent an emergency operation the same night. Alhamdulillah (all praised due to Allah) on the date 30th of July 2024 after he did the dressing, to my joy my fingers are fully recovered. Dr. Bernard is an experienced doctor who saved my fingers from amputation. He wished me well and said all this happened are praise to God. Not to forget many thanks to all nurses and staff whose attended me while been treated at this hospital. Jazzakumullahu khairan kathira.. “May Allah reward you [with] goodness”.

Please accept these few words of thanks as a token of my appreciation for your kindness Dr Bernard and your expertise and professionalism in caring for my mother who is 84yrs. She is happy to celebrate our reunion dinner. This is her 2nd hip replacement after a fracture done by him on the opposite hip after a fall a year ago. This was also a questionable evidence of a fracture as the 1st time but ct confirmed a fracture. Dr Bernard an orthopaedic consultant is a competent surgeon and meticulous. Post operation he assisted my mother with physiotherapists to take her 1st step and gained her confidence to walk. We like to thank the nurses and physiotherapist who were excellent in aiding her recovery. We are fortunate to have him at Sungai Long Hospital.

I was suffering from severe back pain caused by my knee condition, so I visited Dr. Bernard Devadasan, an orthopaedic specialist at Sg. Long Hospital. From examining my gait, feet, and knee, he was able to quickly identify the underlying issue. After reviewing my X-rays, he explained the severity of my condition and recommended a total knee replacement. In April 2026, I underwent the surgery, which was a great success. Throughout my hospital stay, Dr. Bernard was very attentive and visited me regularly in the ward to monitor my recovery. Now, three months after the surgery, my knee has fully recovered. The most important part of the recovery process was diligently following the physiotherapy program and consistently performing the stretching exercises recommended by the hospital’s therapists. Dear Dr Bernard, firstly I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your CNY wishes and follow up. I had both my knee replacement operation done at Sungai Long Specialist Hospital and feel I'm now able to enjoy life without the constant pain I had been living with for years at my hometown in Melaka. Dr. Bernard's confidence, thorough explanations, and skillful approach made me feel safe and well-cared. I truly appreciate the positive impact he has had on my quality of life and I'm blessed.
