Visited Dr Ragu Ramasamy, a colorectal surgeon. Went for haemorrhoid surgery and he suggested for a scope as well for early detection if any. Personally find that very good. Detailed and insightful surgeon.

I was admitted to SJMC for a pretty major abdominal surgery. The surgery involved 2 surgeons. Dr Lee Say Fatt the Primary Surgeon and Dr Ong Kee Thiam. This review is going to be a long one, so I am going to break the review into several parts. Here goes: Pre-Operation Treatment/Consultation with Dr. Lee Say Fatt: I am “Speechless”. He is extremely experienced and professional. The man created and maintained his own website and his website contains tonnes of information on Women’s Health. The website gave so much information which I could absorb in my own time, and it was extremely clear. He assured both me and my extremely stressed-out husband that everything will be ok and he do not foresee any complications during the surgery. Post-Operation Care with Dr. Lee Say Fatt – 9th Aug to 14th Aug 2023: I can assure you, you “Do Not Need” to worry about Dr Lee not doing his post-operation visits. Peace of Mind is what you are going to get. Attentiveness and Care are the 2 things that come across very strongly with Dr Lee. The “man” “CARES”. By 8:30am he is already in your room to check up on you and the afternoon visits will vary between 2:30pm and 4.00pm if memory serves me correctly but never later than 4pm. Probably because he has surgeries in the afternoons. He’s visits include Weekends and Public Holidays!! Post-Operation Care with Dr. Ong Kee Thiam – 9th Aug to 14th Aug 2023 You will be getting similar Attentiveness and Care from Dr Ong. By 10:30am he is already in your room to check up on you and the afternoon visits will vary between 2:30pm and 4.00pm if memory serves me correctly but never later than 4pm. He’s visits are quick but good enough to give you an overall understanding of your condition. Operating Theatre Team: Kudos to the Operation Theatre team, you are the best especially a Chinese lady who made me laugh, made me so relaxed by telling me that everything will be ok and I will be taken care of, I have nothing to worry about and most importantly, they were very gentle with me. I will be lying on a not-so-comfortable surface for the next 2+ hours, but I was treated well and with respect and not just a piece of meat. For that, I am extremely appreciative and grateful. Also, many thanks to the team in Post-Recovery Room. Nursing Team on the 3rd Floor North Tower – Maternity Ward: I was in extreme pain. The pain level was 15 out of 10. Knowing this, they work very fast to settle me in for the night. They were extremely attentive and very responsive when I rang the bell for them to assist me. Yes, it’s their job but they do it with a level of Professionalism and Kindness that make you feel comfortable, and you know, they will look after you. They were extremely polite no matter what time to ring for their assistance. I stayed for 6 days and throughout my stay, I have “Never Heard a Raised Voice”, and “No Irrigation or Arrogance in Their Mannerism”. Thank you so much. Food Services: A very special Thank You to Ms. Chithi. So cheerful, so attentive, and she makes sure I eat so I can keep up my strength. I can't ask for more. Keep up the awesome work and Thank You so much 🙏 Summary: I must say, I am impressed. The entire team played a major role in my speedy recovery. Kudos to SJMC Training Department & Quality Department, you guys really trained the support team well! You should be so proud that all the training has paid off with a very satisfied customer. Dr. KT Ong is truly an exceptional colorectal surgeon. He treated my husband’s perianal abscess with great excellence, care, and professionalism throughout the entire journey. He is a very well-spoken, kind, and helpful doctor who takes the time to explain my husband’s condition clearly and thoroughly, which gave us a lot of reassurance and confidence. His decision-making was astute, and we always felt that my husband was in very good hands. What impressed us most was how meticulous and dedicated he was in handling my husband’s wound dressing on a daily basis. His attention to detail, patience, and genuine concern for his patient’s recovery are truly commendable. We are deeply grateful for the care Dr. KT Ong provided. I have just discharged from SJMC after 1 week hospitalisation. I wish to thank the hospital for its professional service throughout my stay there. First and foremest, many thanks and appreciation to my gynae doctor Dr. Tang Boon Nee for the good operation that she has done for me. She is a very nice doctor, knowledgeable, experienced, and professional. Next is Dr. Ong KT for accepting the called-in to assess my case in the operation theatre. Then to the nurses in Ward 3D NT for the excellent care given during the stay. They are hardworking and efficient. Also to the counter lady who helped me process the admission. It was fast and efficient too. The hospital food was also very good. Good quality and many varieties. The hosp room was nice and clean, albeit air cond was a bit faulty in the room that i stayed, but it was manageable. Last but not least, the concierge guy Vishnu provided good service on my checkout day. Thanks SJMC. Pls carry on with the professionalism that you have.
