My Journey with Achalasia and Recovery I've been suffering from Achalasia for almost a year. It was one of the hardest times in my life - I had great difficulty swallowing both food and drinks, and I lost nearly 10 kg. I went through many treatments and visited several private hospitals, but nothing seemed to help. Finally, I met Dr. Gew Lai Teck from Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, and I can truly say he changed my life. After proper diagnosis, he confirmed that I had Achalasia and performed the POEM (Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy) operation on me. Now, after the surgery, I can eat normally again and enjoy my meals without pain or fear. I'm so thankful and happy with the results. Recently, I was admitted to Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur due to acute abdominal pain. They performed a gallbladder removal surgery with exceptional precision—resulting in minimal side effects and barely noticeable surgical scars. Despite their credentials, they were down-to-earth, attentive, and made me feel genuinely cared for throughout the process. I’m deeply grateful for the excellent care I received.
