I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to PHKL’s ENT specialist Dr. Kong Min Han, anesthetist Dr. Lim, and Ward B3’s nurse manager Mdm Chua and all the nurses for taking such good care of me during my hospital stay. Parotid tumour surgery can be quite complex because many important nerves are involved. In my case, the tumour (a pleomorphic adenoma of the deep lobe of the parotid gland) was growing inward and was relatively large, which increased the difficulty of the surgery. I’m truly thankful for Dr. Kong’s attentiveness and patience. After several hours of surgery, he successfully removed my benign tumour without damaging any major nerves. Although I have some minor postoperative side effects, they are really not a big issue, as they should recover over time. Dr. Kong had clearly explained all of this to me before the surgery and even encouraged me to seek a second opinion. But since everything was within an acceptable range for me, I chose to proceed with the surgery under his care 🤣. My thanks also go to anesthetist Dr. Lim for his explanations and reassurance before and after the surgery, which made me feel completely at ease going under general anesthesia. Honestly, I think I was out in less than few seconds 😂. This was my first surgery, and I’m glad it was at Pantai KL. From the doctors to the medical staff, the entire experience was truly positive. Dr. Chai showed genuine concern, and Dr. Kong even reopened his clinic after hours just to clear my son’s mucus. Where I come from, it would be nearly impossible to find a doctor who would unlock a closed clinic just for one patient. The food wasn’t to my taste, but the outstanding care from the medical team more than made up for it. I’m deeply grateful!
