Professor Dr. Lim Soo Kun is a leading Consultant Nephrologist and Professor of Medicine at the University of Malaya, affiliated with UM Specialist Centre. He graduated MBBS from the University of Malaya in 1999 and earned MRCP (UK) in 2004. In 2008, he became board-certified in Nephrology in Malaysia, and in 2012, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) and a Member of the Academy of Medicine, Malaysia. His clinical interests are wide and include chronic kidney disease (CKD) with a special focus on pre-dialysis patient education, glomerulonephritis, kidney transplantation, and lupus nephritis. He has held key leadership positions: formerly Head of the Renal Division at University Malaya Medical Centre, and currently President of the Malaysian Society of Nephrology. He is also involved in national registry work, guideline development, and serves on advisory and credentialing committees. On the research front, he has published over 120 peer-reviewed journal articles, has an H-index of 15, with nearly 5,000 citations, and has overseen multiple grants. His appointment as Head of the Clinical Investigation Centre (UMMC) underscores his role in advancing clinical research and innovation.
