Dr Gerard, your expertise not only saved my life from a hemorrhage stroke, but also preserved most (if not all) of my functions. Your work is nothing short of extraordinary. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been under your care. I am also appreciative to the rest of doctors (Dr Mafeitzeral Mamat, Dr Melvin Kandasamy, Dr Kok Chin Yong, Dr Tee Chee Hian) as well as all the caring nurses at ICU/HDU Ward, nutritionist and rehabilitation therapists who were part of the SMCV medical team that look after my well being. My husband suffered a serious stroke (Intracerebral Hemorrhage) and was rushed to SMCV on 27 March 2025. We were extremely fortunate to be under the care of Dr. Gerard Arvind, who managed multiple critical surgeries with great skill and professionalism. Dr. Gerard was incredibly patient and took the time to explain every step of the treatment process in detail. Given the severity of my husband’s condition and the high fatality rate associated with it, we are deeply grateful for how well Dr. Gerard and his team managed everything. His care followed the phases he shared with us, and seeing my husband recover accordingly has been nothing short of a blessing. His service truly goes above and beyond expectations. We also want to give special thanks to the amazing nursing team at the Level 6 ICU and the ward at Level 5. Their dedication, care, and compassion made a huge difference during our most difficult days. We hope this note can help motivate them to continue delivering their best work to other patients. We recently had two follow-up appointments with Dr. Gerard, and both experiences were smooth and welcoming. His clinic assistant, Ms. Sa’adiah, was very kind, patient, and respectful.
