Professor Dr. Lee Way Seah is one of Malaysia’s foremost specialists in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition, combining deep clinical experience, academic leadership, and internationally-regarded training. After obtaining his MBBS from the University of Malaya (1988), he pursued postgraduate training in the UK, including paediatrics at London and subspecialty training in liver disease at major UK children’s hospitals. He earned his MD for original research in neonatal cholestatic jaundice and has served as Professor of Paediatrics since 2006. Dr. Lee has an extensive publication record (well over 100 papers), has edited multiple key paediatric textbooks and handbooks, and has trained numerous local and international fellows. He has also held important leadership positions such as President of the College of Paediatrics, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, Head of Department of Paediatrics at UM, and is a Fellow of multiple prestigious academies (including the Academy of Sciences of Malaysia). His expertise covers complex childhood liver disease, chronic diarrhoea, neonatal cholestasis, rotavirus and other gastrointestinal infections, inflammatory bowel disease in children, and infant nutrition and feeding difficulties.
