I came in with ongoing intense lower back pain and did lumbar artificial disc replacement under Dr Wong Chung Chek (Orthopaedic & Spine Surgeon), and experienced a great improvement on my lower back pain post surgery, which I had for many years now. Dr Wong is expertise in lumbar artificial disc replacement surgery and he had many experience of handling complex cases for such surgery. I was very confident with him in my first visit itself as he clearly explained my situation and all the outcomes that I can expect from my surgery. He also prioritised my safety in any procedure so that I will not go through any complications. Overall, Dr Wong is a very friendly and professional surgeon, and I highly recommend him for any orthopaedic or spine related treatment. I was also treated by Dr Lim Siu Min (Anaesthetist) in the OT, Dr Lim assisted my recovery throughout my stay in the hospital by visiting me daily to review my progress post surgery. Not to forget the physiotherapy team, Ms Shanthini (Physiotherapist) assisted by 2 trainees (Mr Ashraf & Ms Eithar), who took time to assess my condition properly post surgery. The exercises and treatment really helped with my ongoing recovery. They were very knowledgeable and supportive throughout the sessions. And yes, that’s my journey with spine surgery in Alty Orthopaedic Hospital, KL. I had the best team to treat me and I am very confident in my surgery and recovery in the coming months.

Small but clean hospital. Quiet and conducive for rest. Overall service by everyone in the hospital was great; starting from admissions to discharge, and until the time I boarded my GRAB ride to go home. Both my attending doctor (Dr Lim Sze Wei) and anaesthesiologist (Dr Lim Siu Min) were attentive and informative. Everyone made me felt that my medical condition mattered to them and that they'll endeavour to take good care of me. Definitely the hospital to go-to for orthopaedic issues.

At the same time, they demonstrated an unwavering commitment to patient safety by meticulously adhering to protocols such as fall prevention, two-patient identifiers, and the sign-in/time-out processes. Their diligence was both impressive and comforting. I would also like to acknowledge the excellent allied health professionals who played a crucial role in my recovery, namely the pharmacist and physiotherapist. Their guidance and support were invaluable. Furthermore, the seamless administrative process deserves recognition. The Business Office team managed the admission and discharge processes with great efficiency, ensuring everything was prearranged nicely, allowing me to focus entirely on my health without any added stress. In conclusion, every single individual I encountered at ALTY Hospital contributed to a positive and healing experience.
